Sierra Dawn Arabians was established in 1960. The Early California Vaquero Methods of training were established by Bill Wink Chappell in 1965 when a Public Training Stables was added as a service. Bill taught Lorry Wagner (owner of the Ranch) these methods. The Public Training Stables was shut down in 1988, but Sierra Dawn horses are still trained Vaquero style before sale.
