    Our specialties:

  • “Reminiscences of Petersburg: A Woman’s Perspective” In recognition of National Women’s History Month, the Petersburg Department of Tourism, Museum and Visitors Services, will host a special program entitled “Reminiscences of Petersburg: A Woman’s Perspective.” The presentation will be held at Centre Hill Museum on Sunday, March 18, at 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm. The program will showcase the costumed portrayal of four women who lived in Petersburg during the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. These women will give their own personal accounts of life-changing events in the time in which they lived and relay how these events may have affected the lives of other citizens in the area. The women endured many difficulties during their lives in Petersburg: race and sex discrimination, epidemics of dreaded diseases, fear and occupation of foreign armies, and the deaths of family members, relatives and friends. Reservations for the special tours are required due to space limitations. For reservations and additional information, please call (804) 733-2396. Tickets for the tour are five dollars ($5.00) per person. Children under seven are free. Centre Hill Museum is located at 1 Centre Hill Avenue. Come join us for this special event honoring National Women’s History Month and experience Centre Hill Museum from a different perspective.
