One of the things I would like to see this new aoainistrmtidn do is inspire the Children, parents and the kids in the schools in these neighborhoods to volunteer in great numbers to get out there in the streets and to make a crusading and voluntary effort to clean them up. And the best way to start in is with the glass and debris. You dont need a lot of cash to do that. But a lot of concerned parents, goodwill, a host of volunteers, (a Martin Luther King spirit), and some well marked Clean Up Our City! trash barrels and volunteer Pride trucks to haul the stuff away to the nearest proper dump site instead of leaving it in the vacant lot next door as is so often seen. Only then, will a real Renaissance begin from the bottom up. And its long overdue. You do that, put that on the National Media, and the rest of the country will be on your side, and demand better schools and facilities for those in need. God helps those who help themselves, is the fitting Proverb in this instance.
