For almost 100 years, The American Legion has served as a patriotic veterans' organization with more than 2.4 million members in 14,000 posts across the world. American Legion Post 284 proudly serves the community of Holmen, Wisconsin, committed to the organization's mission of mutual helpfulness. Members of the Morris Snuggerud American Legion Post 284 contribute by mentoring young people, volunteering, and sponsoring wholesome programs in their community, such as the Holmen Kornfest, an annual family-friendly event that features food, a carnival, and a parade. The post itself is open to the public as a restaurant, serving food from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Mondays and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Tuesday through Fridays. Menu items include hamburgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, chicken strips, grilled cheese sandwiches, pizza, and tacos. Functioning as both a bar and tavern, American Legion Post 284 hosts nightly specials, such as Tuesday Night Trivia and special events, including classic car cruise-ins.
