  • Red Bud Players 139 W. School St. Columbus, WI 53925 920-623-0373 March 6, 2002 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE For more information contact Don Nelson at 920-623-0373 or redbudplayers@yahoo.com Columbus… Live theatre makes its return to Columbus in 2002 with the kick-off of a new season from the Red Bud Players community theatre group. The troupe will kick off its new season with a play written by David Ives called All in the Timing. Auditions for the comedy scheduled to go on stage in May will be held Saturday March 16th from 10 a.m. to noon and Sunday March 17th from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Columbus Senior Center. All in the Timing is a play that consists of five one-act comedies that combine wit, satire, intellect and just plain fun. The five one-acts are as follows: The Sure Thing- A classic contemporary comedy where two people meet in a café and find their way through a conversational minefield via false starts, gaffes, and faux pas. (1 man, 1 woman) Words, Words, Words- A recollection of the philosophical adage that three monkeys typing into infinity will sooner or later produce Hamlet and asks the question: What would monkeys talk about at their typewriters? (3 men or women) The Universal Language- A woman with a stutter and the creator and teacher of a wild comic language, Unamunda come together in this scene. Their dazzling display of hysterical verbal pyrotechnics produce hilarious results. (1 man, 1 woman) The Philadelphia – A restaurant patron falls into a Twilight-Zone state called a Philadelphia where, hysterically, nothing is as it seems. (3 men or women) Variations on the Death of Trotsky - Here we see a Russian revolutionary on the day of his demise, desperately trying to cope with the mountain-climber’s axe he’s discovered in his head. (2 men, 1 woman) Those interested in auditioning will be asked to read from lines from any part of the show. A script will be provided. Participants many audition for as many or as few parts as they desire. Because of the short nature of each one-act, this play is a great opportunity for first time actors of any age. Directors for each of these one-acts are also sought as well. For more information on the auditions or directing opportunities, contact Don Nelson at 920-623-0373. -30-
