    Our specialties:

  • Country living

  • One-of-a-kind wood frame house 12 feet above ground overlooking a springfed creek and surrounded by old growth pecans and many other trees. Large windows all around the house to beautiful view. Lots of wild life, fish in your own stream, large yard for pets and garden projects. Private curving driveway. Vaulted ceiling with one bedroom loft above the living room, screened-in balcony upstairs. Newly added master bedroom has vaulted ceiling, 2 levels with open storage room upstairs. Panorama view of the yard and the creek, which has a waterfall after heavy rain thanks to a dam we've built. The house has hardwood floors throughout, fully equipped kitchen, another loft above the bathroom. Built-in closets, built-in computer desks in living room and master bedroom. A balcony off the living room with a French door and a sliding glass door off the kitchen, which also has a large window looking out to the yard above the sink. The house is built with cedar and has posts through the floor to the ceiling anchoring it solidly so it's secure during a flood, which does happen occasionally. We have a boat for emergency (which we haven't had the need for).
This place is ideal for a self-reliant nature lover who enjoys country living. It's designed to use natural resources with windows and a whole house fan for ventilation, and, together with efficient window AC units and the fact that it's completely shaded in summber, you'll have no problem staying cool. A wood-burning stove and plenty firewood nearby make heating virtually free in winter. A grey water system in the yard ensures that water cost stays very low just like the electricity usage. You can also grow your own garden, chicken, etc. Have washer connection and we use clothes lines for drying clothes, which is cheaper and more environmentally sound.
Located 35 miles southeast of Austin and 11 miles northeast of Bastrop, all scenic country driving with little traffic. Available in September. Looking for long-term lease. Furniture also available. Please include the number of people, pets, occupation and desired move-in time in your response. Thanks.
