My laptop had broken down, an HP DV9000 aka dv9339us which has been known to be a defective model, admitted by nvidia, and fervently denied by HP who happens to be involved in a class action lawsuit by many previous owners of this series. The class action unfortunately did not cover all models and mine was left out unfortunately, but I knew the problem was the defective Nvidia Go 7600 which is the laptop model. It tended to way overheat, and this caused the soldering to go bad and then when the video card goes bad, you cant use your computer!! So the solution? To get it reflowed, and I did not trust myself well enough to do the job as I could easily have used too much heat and damaged the chip. So I looked for a professional and fortunately for me there was on within a 50 mile radius in Corona, CA. This guy did wonders for my laptop motherboard and it took him less time to repair it than it took me to drive there and back!!
