Our organization was founded in 1996 as a collaborative effort by the seven libraries in the county. The council's main purpose is to combat the illiteracy problem in San Patricio County. All of our services are free of charge, these include materials, workshops (to train volunteers as adult literacy tutors) videos, and adult literacy services. We are presently looking for volunteers to train as literacy tutors and are also looking for anyone who is in need of our services.
